Greetings,
Thanks for taking the time to view our website. A short note about why we got started in the taxidermy business. I grew up in Northeastern Oregon and being an avid hunter, have had many of my trophies mounted. Over the years I've used various taxidermists, but was never totally satisfied with the end result. Either the eyes or ears didn't look natural or the mount looked rough. I've done some taxidermy with shoulder mounts and rugs in the past. Seven years ago, I became serious and studied with two master taxidermists to learn the proper techniques and have attended several workshops to gather new ideas.
We opened our studio to the public six years ago and currently mount around 50 game heads each season. We specialize in deer, elk, and antelope shoulder mounts, but each year have an increasing variety of other animals to mount. Our goal is to give customers a quality mount at a reasonable price without having to wait forever. We use quality products on all mounts to make your mount look realistic. We are not a big commercial shop and don't have a large overhead, so we can keep our prices lower. We like to have our summers off for vacation and all mounts are usually completed by the end of May each year. We use one of the best tanneries in the midwest and have had excellent results with their quality and service.
I retired from the wood & paper industry four years ago. I've done several things during my life (Army Vietnam vet, marriage, kids, college, millworker, supervisor/management positions) and I'm grateful for my experiences. But I really appreciate the feeling when a customer picks up their mount and thanks me for putting life back into their trophy. It's their praise that makes me strive for perfection.
